Year 2012 – The Story Continues (The Calendar)

Its been quiet a while that I have written something especially something on any of the mysterious and unsolved obscurity. Since my last article on “Year 2012 i.e. Year 2012 What is our Fate? many people asked me if I would be writing more on this topic. So I thought I’ll share some more of my study I did on this topic and some related topics. But eventually when I started writing I had no idea that I would end up writing a mammoth article. Thus finally I had to split the article into several articles which I’ll post in succession.
Today I will give you some information about Mayan’s Calendar which actually started the spark of Year 2012. We talk about Mayan’s Calendar every time we talk about Year 2012 but have no idea what this calendar is all about & what message this calendar is trying to convey.

The Calendar:

Mayan’s Calendar which is also known as Aztec calendar. Unlike the calendar’s we have seen over the years this calendar is craved on the “sun stone” which is kept in the National Museum of Anthropology and History located in Mexico City.

South Park reaches India

South Park America’s one of the best Satiric Comedy shoes is making its debut in India finally after a long wait. Currently South Park is running on its 13th season in US network.

Vh1 part of MTV Networks will be airing the show starting Monday May 11th, 2009 at 10:30pm, so free yourself for this is one show surely not to be missed.

It would be interesting to see if they would actually beep the slangs on South Park or not. I hope not as if they do that then the whole episode would be nothing but *beep* *beep*
But it is very interesting move by VH1 to bring the bold American comedy to India. South Park is known for its pop-culture parody and satirical handling of current affairs. I really wish if they actually make some new episode addressing current affairs of India but I guess we have to wait for that to happen.

So all my readers in India they are about to start in few minutes so just tune into your VH1. Do let us know about the episode & what’s your take on the show.

Oracle to buy Sun

Before I speak about where I’ve been lost in the past few days or I should rather say over a month. I should rather speak out more about one of the latest and hottest news in the silicon valley and the future of many Sun’s open source technologies like Java, MySQl, etc

Oracle Corp. (NASDAQ: ORCL) announced a deal to buy Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ: JAVA) for $7.4 billion, a shock unification of software and hardware companies that emerged following failed talks for International Business Machines Corp. to buy Sun.

As the NY Times stated, Oracle and Sun are two heavyweights that have been partners for more than 20 years, even if Oracle has been distancing itself a bit from Sun’s server line in favor of competitors like HP and Dell lately because of Sun’s business decline. As a result of this deal, Oracle will now become a behemoth in both the software and the hardware market, and the implications this acquisition will have on the its closest rivals and the market in general will be noticeable for years to come.

According to Oracle the deal is valued $5.6 billion excluding cash & debt. As of Dec. 28, Sun had about $2.6 billion in cash and short-term investments and about $700 million in long-term debt.
Larry Ellison, Oracle’s chief executive, in a conference call described Java as “the single most important software asset we have ever acquired.” As a result of the deal, he expects Oracle to be able to offer customers application programs, computers and data-storage hardware in a bundle that will be tuned to help solve their problems.

Yauba – New Google from India??

I happen to accidentally hit a website called Yauba with multiple extension domains such as www.yauba.com www.yauba.co.in www.yauba.co.uk and many more links i suppose though i just happen to click these three. Reason why I am posting this is that I liked this concept which is coming from India as the makers of Yauba are Indians.

I somehow liked this search engine though being very frank I don’t really like any search engines so quickly not as if I am some Google’s loyal fan but its just that I am so much use to google now so much that I find some other search engine difficult for myself to adjust. not my fault but its all because of the convenience Firefox provided me.
