“Windows 7″ Next OS from Microsoft

According to the latest announcement by Microsoft, the latest version of Windows will be called as Windows 7 which would be coming out in couple of years. So now finally Microsoft is adopting a naming system for Windows that might actually make some sense to users, but some users might also feel that where & when did they miss the earlier 1 to 6 versions of Windows.

Windows actually had one of the most irrelevant naming systems, which started with Windows 3.1 which was somewhat logical but stupid naming system too. Then company adopted a mechanism to name its OS by the year which continued from Windows 95 to Windows 98.

Then came 1 of the worst versions of Windows which we’ve ever used Windows ME (Millennium Edition). Next up we hit Windows XP, which has served most of us reasonably well since 2001. It sounds sort of cool, it’s catchy, and we have no idea what it means.

Finally we had Windows Vista (earlier named Longhorn as it was declared) which seemed to stick with the naming convention of “something that sounds sort of cool but didn’t really mean anything”.
