Yahoo Beta Test its New Design: Smartly knows if You Get Bored Easily

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

According to a post at TechCrunch, News with over 44 million unique visitors a month is testing its , Looks like they are trying to Know If a user is getting bored easily.

According to Alan Warms, ’s VP GM of News, this feature incorporates the technology that acquired last year. He adds that with the help of busstracker technology the site has been tweaked to allow its editors more flexibility when it comes to incorporating media like videos and photos. He also says that the site is being adjusted to give readers easier access to content: at the bottom of each article the site will now include a handful of links to related stories and popular articles, both on and elsewhere on the web.

This beta version have some interesting features like from where the user is originated, Like if a reader is coming from Digg or Buzz, only five paragraphs of their news stories will be shown initially, with the related links prominently featured ( figures that these readers are more likely to click through to new stories, and are less concerned with reading the full article).

However, Readers who visit News directly will be shown the full articles by default, and there will be an option for all readers to automatically show full articles.

Seems like Great move for after all the downfalls it has been in recent times. We hope our beloved ! will fight strong with tough times.
